Notices of publication and a consolidated list of references of pre-Exit

Notices of publication and a consolidated list of references of pre-Exit European Assessment Documents for construction products.

Notices of publication from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities are provided for ‘pre-Exit’ European Assessment Documents (EADs) for construction products. This supports Regulation 305/2011, as amended by the Construction Products (Amendment etc) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.

A pre-Exit EAD means:

a) A European Assessment Document for which

i. A reference was published in the Official Journal of the European Union under Article 22 as it had effect immediately before 31 December 2020; and

ii. The reference was not removed from publication before 31 December 2020; or

b) Guidelines published before 1 July 2013 under Article 11 of Council Directive 89/106/EEC of 21 December 1988 on the approximation of laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States relating to construction products which, immediately before 31 December 2020, could be used for the purposes of issuing European Technical Assessments under this Regulation. These guidelines are referred to as European Technical Approval Guidelines (ETAGs).

These pre-Exit EADs, together with the relevant horizontal standards on assessment methods, allow for UK approved bodies to produce UK Technical Assessments (UKTAs).

The following list of pre-Exit EADs will be kept up to date to include references to the versions adopted by UK Technical Assessment Bodies (TABs).

The following list of ETAGs recognised as ‘pre-Exit’ EADs does not include references to documents that have been superseded by EADs. Those particular documents can be found in the full list of ETAGs, accessible on the EOTA website.

The development of these pre-Exit EADs was funded in part by the European Commission.
