Fry's Food Stores throughout Arizona have been taking steps to ensure the health and well-being of their customers and associates by taking multiple steps. Through adjusting hours, hiring more associates to share the workload, providing separate shopping times for senior citizens, and other adjustments the grocery chain is working hard to take care of customers and employees alike.

Adjusted Store Hours

Fry's Food Stores statewide will temporarily adjust store hours to all customers from 7:00 am-9:00 pm.

Senior citizens ages 60 and over are invited into stores an hour early, from 6:00 am-7:00 am, Monday through Thursday only, to accommodate their shopping needs, as this group is the most vulnerable to the coronavirus.

Stock and Supply

All supply chain teams continue to work to ensure that the food, medicine, and cleaning supplies customers need are reaching stores as quickly as possible. The adjusted hours allow store teams more time to focus on keeping stores clean as well as stocking the fresh, affordable food and essentials that customers are looking for when walking into a Fry's store.

What Fry's is doing to protect customers and associates:

In Stores

For Associates

Appreciation Bonus and 14-Day COVID-19 Leave Expansion for staff

Fry's Food Stores will provide a one-time bonus to every hourly frontline grocery, supply chain, and customer service associate amounting to $300 for every full-time associate and $150 for every part-time association. The company also expanded its COVID-19 emergency leave guidelines to include paid time off for self-isolation and symptoms as verified by an accredited health care professional. This expands the new guidelines, announced on March 14, which allows paid time off for associates diagnosed with or placed under quarantine due to COVID-19. In each scenario, all associates will be eligible to receive their standard pay for up to two weeks (14 days).

For those affected by COVID-19, the organization has also made available additional resources through the Kroger Family of Companies Helping Hands fund to provide financial assistance to associates who face hardship due to COVID-19, including lack of access to childcare and for those considered higher-risk.

Hiring Workers

Fry's Food Stores announced it is hiring workers immediately to deal with increased demand in response to COVID-19. To help keep stores stocked with fresh, affordable food and essentials and provide a safe, clean environment for customers, they are now hiring for more than 500 various hourly positions including entry-level management. To learn more or apply for a position, please visit Jobs.frysfood.com or visit a local Fry's grocery store.

"Our associates are showing up for our customers and communities when they need us most," said Pam Gionnonatti, Fry's corporate affairs manager. "With the increased workload, we are hiring immediately to make sure we have the food and supplies our customers need."

I am glad to hear this news. I retired from working in a grocery store for 22 + years so I know what everyone is going through. Keep up the good work.

Add markers on floor for check out lines. Which lane goes to which checkout counter and separation marks for people in line.

Hello. I read your article about Fry's grocery. I shop mostly at the one on 51s ave and Baseline and on 7th St and Baseline. Why is there open self-serve chicken? We have a major health crisis and the food is out and uncovered for anyone to contaminate. Why won't they close this down??
